The 119th US Open continues at Pebble Beach Golf Links on Friday, with Justin Rose leading after a stunning six-under-par first round of 65.

The Englishman outshone playing partner Tiger Woods to sit top of the pile, one shot ahead of four other players, including American hotshots Rickie Fowler and Xander Schauffele.

Woods’s solid opening round of 70 puts him at one under, two behind Rory McIlroy and one adrift of Brooks Koepka, the USPGA champion who is aiming to win the US Open for the third straight year.
