Golf star Lee Westwood landed £48,000 at the races on Wednesday at Cheltenham Festival

Former world No 1 golfer Lee Westwood hit the jackpot on Day Two at Cheltenham by scooping an eye-watering £48,200.91 from a £240 stake.

Westwood placed a Super Heinz bet, which is made up of seven selections and requires only two to win in order to make a return.

In the end six horses came through him at the Festival ensuring a huge windfall for the 45-year-old.

The two-time Masters runner-up was delighted with his financial success and posted his winning selections on Instagram.
