With three majors, 64 professional wins and a spell as world No 1 behind him, you’d think Vijay Singh would be happy to kick back and enjoy the $71million he’s won on the golf course during his long career.

Not a chance. Instead the Big Fijian has started a gruelling workout regime ahead of the new golf season. That includes hurling giant tyres as far as he can, smashing tyres with a sledgehammer, catching, throwing and crunches with heavy medicine balls, resistance training, pounding the floor either side of him with a ball on a rope, whacking yet more tyres with a golf club, and whipping battle ropes.

He’s 55 by the way.
