Tiger Woods looks dejected as he fails to join his USA team-mates by winning his fourball tie

Team USA lead the charge at the Ryder Cup on Friday morning, but it was a familiar story for Tiger Woods as he once again struggled to shine on golf’s nosiest stage.

Woods and his partner Patrick Reed were the only fourball not to return to the clubhouse with a point for Team USA. They were beaten three and one by Tommy Fleetwood and Francesco Molinari.

With Team USA winning the other three pairings, thus taking a 3-1 lead, it mattered little to captain Jim Furyk, but Woods’s poor round will come as a concern going into the rest of the weekend.
