Tiger Woods is expecting plenty of noise as the FedEx Cup play-offs begin in New Jersey this week – especially after the fans have ‘tipped back a couple’.

The former world No 1 sits 20th in the standings heading into The Northern Trust at Ridgewood Country Club following an impressive return from a serious back injury.

Woods has experienced huge support from crowds around the US during his latest comeback – most notably at this month’s USPGA Championship in Missouri – but he is ready for an even more vocal fanbase when the first round begins on Thursday.
