Another day in the desert, another flawless round of golf from Rory McIIroy. On a perfect morning for scoring on day one of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, McIlroy took full advantage to breeze round in a bogey-free 65.

After completing four rounds in 18 under par down the road in Abu Dhabi last week, McIlroy’s return to the sport continues to purr as he took up residence on the early leaderboard with his seven-under-par score.

Most players when they’ve been away for 102 days take a couple of tournaments to work off the rust but the 28-year-old is now averaging 67 for each round since his return.
